CGN ENTERS FORTNITE - WELCOME JannisZ

Cologne, Germany – April 13th, 2023 - As of today, we are once again entering a new chapter of our journey. We officially joining the Fortnite Ecosystem with the most successful German FNCS Champion Jannis 'JannisZ' Matwin.

Jannis 'JannisZ' Matwin (17, German), is a three-time FNCS-Champion, 16-time FNCS Grand finalist, currently ranked #3 in Europe, and has 1,200,000 followers on Twitch, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, as well as $820,000 in tournament winnings. He started his career in 2019 as part of the Wave Esports Academy and was signed as a professional player after his first successes. After his second FNCS title in March 2021, JannisZ joined David Beckham's team Guild Esports. Today he officially starts his new era at CGN Esports.

CGN CEO Lucas Studt about the major signing:

Fortnite is an extremely popular title in the Esports Ecosystem that CGN has been watching for several years now. However, we have never had the opportunity to enter the Battlefield with such an experienced and successful player. Our philosophy is based on experts of the respective title working together with CGN to get the necessary infrastructure so that we can develop and add value to the scene together in a sustainable way. With Fortnite we get the opportunity to reach a younger demographic and future CGN fans compared to the current portfolio. I am incredibly happy about JannisZ signing and that I can finally talk about it after several months of planning. JannisZ is an incredibly talented player and leader, and I am looking forward to share the projects we are already working on!

JannisZ expressed his excitement at joining CGN:

I am excited to start a new chapter in my career with CGN. My goal has always been to prove myself as one of the most successful players in the game, and despite my three FNCS titles, I am not done yet. It feels good to join an organization from my home country with CGN and represent them as the first Fortnite player.

JannisZ first official gameplay under CGN is the FNCS-Major 2 Weekly Competition, which is kicking off today.

Be sure to follow our journey on Twitch, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok and Instagram & to join our official Discord server to stay up to date on everything from CGN Esports!
